Chris Stroud, Principal
My name is Christopher Stroud and I am the proud principal of Meridian Elementary School. I am immensely proud of our students, our faculty, and our staff.
I am a product of America's public school system. My father was a career Army officer and I moved around quite a bit as I grew up. Our family's last stop was here in Gilbert, Arizona, and my younger sister graduated from Gilbert High School. I graduated from Bartlett-Begich High School in Anchorage, Alaska. I started university at the University of Alaska, Anchorage and finished up my BA at Arizona State University. I started teaching in 1999 and was a junior high social studies teacher. I was also a National Board Certified Teacher and thoroughly enjoyed my time in the classroom. I earned my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, and was next an Assistant Principal at Desert Ridge High School. I was the principal at Gilbert High School from 2012-2020 before coming to work with our amazing students here at Meridian.
My wife Leslee is a social studies teacher here in Gilbert Public Schools, and we are the proud parents of two boys, one at ASU and one in Gilbert Public Schools as well. We love hiking and traveling with our pooch, Leia.
At Meridian Elementary School, we put students first in all we do! I am proud of our hard work and our collective efforts to bring out the best in all of our students. I believe strongly in service leadership and believe that it is our job to bring our values each and every day to our campus community.
