Teacher Spotlight - Kimmy Rhode, Kindergarten | Enroll Now!

Hello! I am Kimmy Rhode, and I am so proud to be a Kindergarten teacher here at Meridian Elementary. I have been teaching Kindergarten for two years, and my favorite part of the job is watching those lightbulb moments when a new concept finally clicks.
Kindergarteners come to school so curious, energetic, and eager to share their ideas. I love helping them grow, not just in their reading and math, but socially and emotionally as well. Watching a shy child find their voice or seeing a student stick with a hard task is incredibly rewarding!
I believe that a confident child is a happy learner. I love partnering with parents to help our Mustangs feel ready for the school day.
I am a proud Gilbert Public Schools graduate! I was born and raised right here in Gilbert, and I love being part of this community. When I’m not in the classroom, I love being outdoors and spending time with my family and my three dogs.
Fun Fact:
I have a pet gecko who lives right here in our classroom! I love to be silly and goofy with my students to make sure every day is full of smiles.
A Note for Parents:
If I were sending my own child to Kindergarten this fall, I would focus on the everyday skills that build confidence! Practice things like opening lunch items, putting on shoes, and following two-step directions. It’s also helpful to practice things like losing a game or making a mistake. These small moments help them learn to calm their bodies and feel safe even when a parent isn't right beside them.
I love being a Meridian Mustang and can’t wait to welcome your family to our stable!
