In General Music we study a wide variety of musical concepts. Some of the main categories we learn about are rhythms, forms in music, where the beats are in the songs, high and low notes, scales, solfege and chords Major and Minor. We are able to use everything from our bodies for percussion to mallet instruments like the xylophone to help us put all of these concepts into practice.

About Me

I received my undergraduate degree from Ottawa University and my Masters degree in music education from Arizona State University. I have performed with several groups including ASU's West African Drum Ensemble, Sonic Brass and ASU's Marching Band. I was the winner of the Artist's of Promise award in 2009 and had the honor of performing as a soloist on my French horn on the Herberger Theater stage in Phoenix, AZ. I have also had the opportunity to grace the stage with my fellow musicians at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2005.
